toad soup cooked by Mr. Bufforson, DH Editions

IMHO, anthologies stories usually have a lot of uncertainty literary, a little bit of chaos and inconsistency and not much less than flimsy plot or thematic disparity. The link between the stories is often feeble or nonexistent, and that, for a compulsive and voracious reader like me, usually result in a rejecting of the work, which ends up languishing on a shelf waiting to be collected and flip again. "Soup of toads", however, that the seal DH editions published in October 2010, is highly commendable that urge young patronage editorial argues that since its inception, "does not suffer, despite the effort it entails, the multiple defects mentioned above.
may be due to the tenacity of the editor, determined to present a coherent text and basting in which the plot is not disrupted by constant changes see frame or, perhaps, the combined efforts of the authors, whose generosity would lead them to prevail throughout the work on the brilliance and sameness of their own texts. I do not know. But it is sensed in the book a strong bond that seems to go far beyond the mere coherence of the plot. Leaving aside the obvious stylistic differences between the group of writers Mr. Bufforson-curious and sensible pseudonym under which brings together the authors of "frog soup" -, one might even say that the stories have been the result of the same pen accurate, so that helps, overwhelmingly, to swallow the meal that the publisher offers, and increases, while relishing satisfaction. Soup
toads is a work about fear in a way ignored or indirectly, using for this purpose, a good number of classic clichés we all, fans of horror and mystery, we have embedded in our cultural DNA. Thus, the eternal fog appears as a character, vivid and unfortunate, but that does not herald the obvious future of terrifying events, a relentless litany of mournful songs seem to sprout from the mist as you would a bard in the crowd, shrugging among them and superimposing his voice against the din, a dreary town, forgotten, ash and changing itself as the ideal scenario, intimidating, with its own personality ... with certainty of death, and mirrors, often hidden, they are given the role of many threshold sometimes outlined, where the horror take cover behind a worn and broken mercury. They all are, of course, trite and almost endless resources in the collective imagination, but not make it any less disturbing or frightening, more the contrary, we are ideally situated in the predisposition to enjoy-and scare-with what is to come, prompting a faint recollection, almost underground, to hide our doubts and shivering.
The abundant frogs that populate the pages appear to us repulsive and dangerous with a skin skated by the poison of fear and a plaintive croak trimmed, gregarious of horror and death that happens.
The characters are almost palpable, as fears that the reader comes to assume ownership, and their deaths, which the authors, in most cases, overcome cleverly-end to produce a disquieting unease, a sort of sadness or heavy. We may well steal the "pleasure" of seeing the evisceration, mutilation and so on. Yes, but this may encourage many resources that recreated the ellipses become extremely eloquent.
The plot is the same: a hearty soup, stuffed full of bugs, of fog, blood, that the expertise of the authors force us to swallow a big sip, nearly pull, and more sweet dressing which is but the talent of those who have participated in it. And although it is a choral work and generous, because they deserve it, because they are worth it, I'd say the spot-pormenorizaré story by story.
I dont love you, Sergio Macías. Two brothers, Mara Abel, return to the village they were born, now forgotten and moved away from their lives. A shadow of concern chairs the story, since that plague Mara premonitions are very likely to reality. Its onset is most brutal, most vicious of the book, but then becomes slower, more descriptive, such as a break for what is to come. The aromas of lust and lubricity that couching the text added to it a strong transgressor, which provides an environment very disturbing. Like everyone else, very well written.
The king of the soup, Juan José Hidalgo Díaz. The strange presence of Mr. Bufforson gives the relative certainty of iniquity, that conflict with the innocence and naivete of Mary, the little protagonist of the story and true subject of the anxieties of the reader. The author manages to create an almost child-bucolic, sometimes, in which the reader is very comfortable. That is why it produces so much grief to contemplate how the joy that has flooded all begins to crumble. The hopes are broken, the tragedy is chewed. And the reader is kept in a ay.
City toads, Enrique Luque de Gregorio. After a sudden breakdown for the presence of some toads, Sarah and Edward dock in a strange town, as "post-apocalyptic movie, where the mirror has to place before the unfortunate reality that surrounds them. The initial rate is stilled, to savor with delight, and with him, Henry is plunging us into the frightening world of the city of frogs, where all the classic clichés ranks first is to increase the anxiety and fear of the reader. Predictability does not detract one iota interest or concern.
Instincts, David García Ramírez, dye is another story almost "childish", naive, almost unnoticed, which nevertheless manages to create a strong sense of unease. In it, David is available from the erratic choice of a pet to help us discern how to concoct the horror, how it nourishes evil, what purpose intended. The end, of course, offending as few. In my dreams
rattle bones of children, Juan Ángel Laguna Edroso. Two brothers, Tristan and Gael, they go into the forest in search of the bizarre circus of the toad king. They long to record a movie and to great success on the Internet. His wishes, however, they will discover the horror. Juan Angel's prose is superb, and this allows accurate recreation of a situation in which they find their characters. Inserts that also includes, by way of thoughts or recollections, they generate an intense tightness in the reader, who does venture into what has to happen without being predict.
And the fog will cover your body like a blanket, Virginia Pérez de la Fuente. Aromas of greedy lust lust and the pages of this quasi-mythological tale atmosphere, in which two brothers, Thiaon and Athea, shall be submitted to incest peep suggestive scene in the book. It is a text full of images occurring, whispers of desire, thoughtful metaphors, which becomes a craze among rushes and ferns to bring huge clues that will help unravel the plot. Covenant
knights, Andrés Díaz Hidalgo, the story is more discordant with the general tone of the book, and despite this, is what makes the basting required to connect all the pieces that we have been providing. The ingredients seem to be taking shape among them, adhering to one another to form a hearty soup, full of flavors and aromas tragic horrific.
The charge of murder that Mr Bufforson made to a former Green Beret is the device used by Andrew to clarify the plot concocted by his peers. And it does so very wise, with touches of action movie that, despite what may seem, do good to the level reached in the previous pages.
ends the book with an editorial comment, by way of explanation and award, which explains the process of creating the book. And I must admit that, as in this last note, the price that the reader has to pay to purchase the book certainly deserves punishment. Just "two pence" or, what is, € 9.95.
